Beach Currency

We're going to be rich!  On our trip down to check on the beach house progress this weekend, and to search for color inspiration we got stuck in the sand.  It happens.  We were actually only a stone's throw from our house when we got stuck (we had decided to try a new approach).

While the guys were busy deflating tires, so we could drive out of there, the dog and I went exploring.

And we found this!

And this!

There were gazillions of sand dollars!  I adore sand dollars, so naturally I filled my pockets.

With all this riches, why do we bother with jobs?

  1. Oh my goodness! I love sand dollars, but I think I've only ever found a whole one once or twice. I'm so jealous of your score!

  2. Oh I love sand dollars. It not easy to find whole intact dead sand dollars due to the tumbling in the waves. Do you know the legend behind the sand dollar?

I hope you make something awesome for Christmas out of your find.

    Take good care,

  3. I love sand dollars. They remind me of the South Coast beaches. We don't see them up here in the icy waters of the North Atlantic. I think they'd make great Christmas ornaments with maybe just a little clear glitter to enhance the natural starfish-shaped design on them. Don't they usually have a few holes in them?
