Easy Thanksgiving Greeting Card

Sometimes, it's a good idea to pull out old craft supplies, and look at them with new eyes. For this card, I used a decades old Stampin' Up Thanksgiving stamp.

The rubber was still in perfect condition, and it stamped perfectly. I paired the stamp with this adorable fox paper. The paper is from a couple of years ago, but the colors are still a fresh take on Fall.

I also found some pretty chrysanthemum paper in my stash, that coordinated with the fox paper, and used that to line an envelope. The fox paper was then applied to a premade card front. The pretty orange and black edging is from the selvage of the paper. I love that so many paper companies are making pretty selvages these days!

I stamped the pumpkin still life image on a sheet of white card stock, and colored it to coordinate with the decorative papers.

While the stamp I used is no longer available, I did find these pretty stamps on Amazon (affiliate).

I'm loving this sweet pumpkin bouquet, found here.

That said, I'm a firm believer in using something from your own stash. If you already have a pretty Thanksgiving stamp, then use that. The beauty of having a stamp, is that you can use it over and over again. Remember, you don't need to use exactly what I used -- just use my idea as a jumping off point.

After the image was colored, I cut it out, using my Cuttlebug machine and the Sizzix Framelits Regal dies. I LOVE this die set. If I could only have one set, this would be it. You can find the die here (affiliate link).
This Regal Label set would also work (affiliate link).

After cutting out the colored stamped image, I cut out a frame, using two different sizes of the dies.

Next, I stamped, cut out, clipped the corners, and distressed a sentiment. The sentiment was matted with a scrap leftover from lining the envelope, and attached with a piece of foam tape. The finished result was lovely, and had the bonus of using supplies I already owned.

I hope this inspired you to take a look at your own supplies, and see if you have some old moldy oldies that could be used in fresh new ways!
