Make This Easy Last Minute Advent Calendar

Here is an easy last minute Advent Calendar that anyone can make. This project uses vintage book pages, but you can use pretty scrap book paper, as well.

It is so easy to create these pretty little advent envelopes.

They are just the right size for a piece of candy or a message. I used old Reader's Digest Condensed Books pages for my advent calendar, which are about the size of a half sheet of copy paper.

Start by taking a full sheet of book paper (you might check the text and make sure there is nothing inappropriate for kiddos). Fold it in half the long way, then fold it into thirds, as shown above.

Next, fold down the top corners of the far left and far right thirds, as shown in the picture.

Fold the outer thirds inward, overlapping the triangular flaps. Secure the bottom edge with a piece of washi tape or scotch tape or a thin bead of glue. If desired, add numbers to each envelope.

Drape some twine or ribbon across a frame or mantle and clip the advent envelopes to the twine using clothes pins.

Have fun filling the envelopes with small treats or gifts!
