Vintage Book Page Ornaments

You would think that after more than a decade of working with vintage papers, a person would "get over it", right?

Well, not me.

I think I am more into vintage papers -- especially vintage book and hymnal pages -- than ever before.

I just finished a brand new ornament design, using vintage pages, and was planning to post pics and a tutorial, but alas, I am using The Engineer's computer this week, and can't upload the new pictures!  Yikes!  I'll be back on my own computer in a few days, thank goodness :)  I can't wait to share the new designs with you all!  They are inspired by vintage paper ornaments, pumpkins, and some plastic Martha Stewart ornaments I saw at Home Depot :)  The new ornament post should be up this week!

For now, I am spending a lazy hour perusing Pinterest, and looking for more vintage paper inspiration....

This star rosette ornament made me swoon!

These leaded glass ornaments are so sweet in their simplicity.

Loving the juxtaposition of vintage, rustic, and bling in a classic ball ornament silhouette.

Origami stars....

Yummy glittered Noel ornaments....

Okay, technically, this paper is not vintage, and this ornament is darling as it is, but wouldn't this shape be beautiful, covered in vintage book pages?

Here is another great idea that could be adapted to vintage papers!

The creator of this ornament also did a version with book pages.

What do you think?  Are you gaga over paper, especially vintage papers?  Maybe you're a new card stock kind of a girl?  Do you have some fun paper Christmas creations you have made?  Feel free to share your link in the comments section :)

  1. You're cracking me up with him also being The Engineer! Do you remember how my The Engineer hit off so well with your The Engineer the time you both came to pick up LovelyDaughter from babysitting?? It makes me smile.
Not that I would probably do it, but I'm way into checking out the vintage paper stuff you've been doing. Your creativity is amazing! With my love for geometry and origami, those origami stars win in my book. Gonna go check those out!

  3. I am loving what you made and can't wait to see what you make from your Pinspiration! I've always been a brand-new paper kinda girl, until I recently got my hands on a vintage atlas... I was instantly in love and I would love to try one of your tutorials with a few old maps!
